Hello, and welcome to my website! My name is Jacob Johnson, and I’ve created this site to share my passion for collecting and preserving military memorabilia, cadet history, coins, flags, and other unique artifacts.
I am currently a Flight Sergeant in the Royal Canadian Air Cadets, with over four years of dedicated service. Through my time in cadets, I’ve gained firsthand knowledge of uniforms, ranks, medals, and traditions, which has fueled my interest in history and collecting. I also volunteer extensively in my community and have been recognized with awards for leadership, dedication, and citizenship.
My journey began in Halifax, Nova Scotia, where I was born on July 29th, 2009. From a young age, I was drawn to discipline, structure, and service—values that have guided my life and decisions. I began as an Able Seaman in the Navy League, learning the foundations of naval discipline, seamanship, and responsibility. This early experience sparked my lifelong interest in military history and operations.
In the Royal Canadian Air Cadets, I have taken on multiple leadership roles, including First Aid NCO, Drill Team Commander, and Squadron Commander. These positions have allowed me to develop leadership skills, instruct junior cadets, coordinate drills, and maintain team morale. My dedication has been recognized through awards such as the Roy Yung Citizenship Award (earned twice), the Most Dedicated Drill Member award, and the Four-Year Service Medal.
This website is a place where I document and showcase pieces from my personal collection while providing historical context and background information. My goal is to make this site educational and accessible as a resource for fellow cadets, collectors, and anyone curious about military history and memorabilia. While I am not an official historian, I research each item carefully and compare my findings against trusted sources such as government archives, museums, and established collector references. Accuracy matters to me, and I welcome feedback or corrections from visitors who share the same passion for preserving history.
Alongside cadets and historical pursuits, I have balanced work and personal growth. I began working at age 14 and currently work at Ocean Contractors Limited, gaining practical experience in trades and mechanics. These skills complement my future goal of becoming a truck, transport and heavy-duty mechanic, and I remain open to serving in the Canadian Armed Forces to further develop my skills and contribute to my country.
Travel and exploration have also broadened my perspective. I have visited provinces across Canada, including Nova Scotia, PEI, New Brunswick, Quebec, Ontario, British Columbia, and Alberta, as well as international destinations such as Mexico, France, the United States of America, and the U.S. Virgin Islands. These experiences have deepened my understanding of history, culture, and human resilience.
Looking ahead, I aim to continue growing through service, leadership, and the study of military history. Whether through cadets, my work, or museum projects, I am committed to learning, teaching, and embodying the principles of discipline, responsibility, and honor. My life is a story of dedication to personal growth, leadership, and preserving the traditions and lessons of Canada’s military heritage.
Thank you for visiting my site. I hope you find it informative and inspiring for your own collecting journey.
