The Maritime Military Conflict Museum Society (MMCM) is a private historical society currently in the process of registration and incorporation in Nova Scotia, Canada. Until registration is complete, MMCM operates under the exclusive ownership and control of the Founder/President, Jacob Johnson.
The Society’s activities are non-profit, educational, and historical, and are intended to preserve, study, and exhibit military, maritime, intelligence, first responder, humanitarian, and conflict history, with a primary focus on Canadian history.
All artifacts, documents, and materials held, displayed, or managed by MMCM are the exclusive property of the Founder/President, unless a formal written donation agreement explicitly transfers ownership.
Items loaned to MMCM by third parties remain the property of the lender, and written agreements specifying duration, terms, and conditions must be obtained and approved by the Founder/President.
No individual, including board members, volunteers, or visitors, may claim ownership of artifacts or remove, transfer, or modify items without explicit written permission from the Founder/President.
MMCM reserves the right to refuse, return, or remove any artifact from display or storage at its discretion.
MMCM operates as a non-profit organization.
MMCM may generate revenue through:
Admission fees
Gift shop sales
Donations, sponsorships, and grants
Fundraising events
All revenue shall be used primarily to advance MMCM’s purposes, including:
Artifact preservation and storage
Museum operations and exhibits
Educational programs and public outreach
Volunteer and staff support
MMCM may compensate employees, contractors, or volunteers for work performed for the Society. Compensation must be:
Reasonable and directly related to the work performed
Approved by the Founder/President
Documented for transparency and record-keeping
MMCM may donate funds or resources to other registered charities, museums, or educational programs, provided the donation aligns with the Society’s purposes and is approved by the Founder/President.
MMCM, its Founder/President, board members, directors, volunteers, and associates are not liable for any personal injury, property damage, or financial loss arising from:
Visits to MMCM facilities or exhibits
Participation in MMCM events, programs, or activities
Handling or use of artifacts or materials
Engagement with MMCM digital or online content
Visitors, volunteers, and participants assume full responsibility for their actions and participation in MMCM activities.
Volunteers and members act under the direction and supervision of the Founder/President.
Volunteers may assist with exhibitions, programs, events, and operations, but cannot make binding decisions regarding artifacts, finances, or legal matters.
Any actions taken outside approved duties are the responsibility of the individual, and MMCM is not liable.
All volunteers and members are expected to comply with MMCM safety, security, and conduct protocols.
All donations or loans to MMCM must include written agreements specifying:
Ownership
Terms and duration of loan or donation
Conditions for display, storage, and use
MMCM reserves the right to refuse donations or loans that do not comply with ethical, legal, or preservation standards.
Items donated or loaned without formal agreements remain under Founder/President control.
All digital content, including photographs, videos, documents, online exhibits, and educational materials, is the property of the Founder/President.
No content may be copied, reproduced, distributed, or modified without explicit written permission.
MMCM may display digital content for educational, research, or promotional purposes online, in print, or at exhibits.
All members, volunteers, visitors, donors, and participants agree to indemnify and hold harmless MMCM, its Founder/President, directors, officers, and volunteers against any claims, damages, losses, or liabilities arising from participation in MMCM activities, including legal costs.
MMCM retains the right to seek legal remedies against any individual violating these terms or causing damage to the collection or reputation of the Society.
Visitors and volunteers must comply with all safety instructions and protocols.
Unsafe, illegal, or disruptive behavior may result in immediate removal or termination of volunteer privileges.
MMCM may enforce age restrictions or supervision requirements for minors on-site or during events.
MMCM may charge admission to exhibits and operate a gift shop or online store.
All proceeds support MMCM’s non-profit purposes.
Pricing and sales policies are set by the Founder/President.
The Founder/President reserves the right to update, modify, or amend this legal notice at any time.
Updates may be made to reflect operational changes, legal requirements, safety standards, or organizational growth.
All updates are effective immediately upon posting or written notice.
This legal notice and all MMCM operations are governed by the laws of Nova Scotia, Canada. Any disputes will be subject to Nova Scotia courts and legal processes.
