The Maritime Military Conflict Museum Society (MMCM) offers membership to individuals who support its mission of preserving, studying, and sharing military, maritime, intelligence, first responder, humanitarian, and conflict history, primarily Canadian history. Membership allows individuals to participate in volunteer activities, provide advisory input, and engage with the museum community while ensuring legal and operational protections.
To become a member, an applicant must:
Be at least 16 years old (cadets under 16 may volunteer, but cannot hold full membership)
Support MMCM’s mission and purpose
Agree to comply with MMCM policies, safety protocols, code of conduct, and privacy rules

Membership requires submission of a completed application form (online or paper)
Applicants provide basic information: name, age, email, phone, and optionally a statement of interest
Membership must be approved by the Founder/President, who reserves the right to refuse applications
Members and volunteers are expected to:
Follow all safety rules, artifact handling procedures, and conduct protocols
Treat all artifacts, staff, volunteers, and visitors with respect
Act responsibly during volunteer or advisory activities
Protect the privacy of other members and the museum’s data
Members must:
Not engage in unsafe, illegal, or disruptive behavior
Not remove, modify, or damage artifacts or museum property
Respect photography rules and intellectual property guidelines
Cooperate with staff and volunteers in all museum operations
Violation of the Code of Conduct may result in:
Warning
Temporary suspension of membership
Termination of membership at the discretion of the Founder/President
By becoming a member, individuals agree that:
Participation in MMCM activities is at their own risk
MMCM, its Founder/President, directors, officers, and volunteers are not liable for personal injury, property damage, or financial loss
Members indemnify and hold harmless MMCM for any claims arising from their participation
MMCM will store and protect personal information collected from members
Information will only be used for membership administration, volunteer coordination, and museum communications
Member information will not be shared with third parties without consent
Members and volunteers understand that all artifacts are the exclusive property of MMCM or donors
Members must follow all artifact handling protocols
Damage or negligence may result in membership termination or legal action
Membership may be revoked by the Founder/President for:
Violating MMCM policies, safety protocols, or code of conduct
Unsafe or disruptive behavior
Actions detrimental to MMCM, its mission, or its collections
Termination is at the sole discretion of the Founder/President and may occur without prior notice.
Members are encouraged, but not required, to make additional donations to support MMCM programs and operations. Donations may be tax-receipted once MMCM is officially registered as a charity.
The Founder/President reserves the right to update, modify, or amend this Membership & Volunteer Policy at any time. Changes will be communicated to members and will take effect immediately upon posting or notification.
